If you are an alumnus/alumna that loves Virginia Tech and would like to keep the Hokie spirit alive in the Lynchburg area we hope that you will consider getting involved. The below positions are currently open.
Fundraising Chair
The chapter fundraising chair is responsible for planning and executing activities and/or events in support of raising donations for the chapter’s scholarship. The fundraising chair will work with the chapter president and chapter officers (if applicable) to determine fundraising goals for the year and coordinate activities as part of the annual plan to reach goals and support the Outstanding Chapter Award checklist.
Tasks & Duties:
- Attend regular meetings
- Coordinate with chapter president and officers to establish yearly fundraising goals
- Coordinate and execute events and activities as part of the annual plan in conjunction with the chapter event chair and treasurer
- Utilize Alumni Association tools and resources to assist in fundraising efforts (e.g. MobileCause, giving URLs, etc.)
- Communicate status of event and/or activity preparations with chapter president, chapter secretary, and other chapter officers (if applicable)
- Communicate and advertise event details through social media, chapter website, and utilize Alumni Association postcards and emails (if applicable)
- Share post-event report and recommendations for next year with chapter president, chapter secretary, chapter officers (if applicable), and Alumni Association
- Attendance at all chapter fundraising events or delegates another event leader as needed
Time Commitment:
Dependent on chapter need; Approximately 6-10 hours per month.
